UNION CHAPEL Janice Denton Quite a number from our church attended the Forward Program of Church Finance Monday and Tues day nights at Longview Baptist Church in Raleigh. O. J. Haglet was informant for these meetings. Mrs. Ethel Pate and Mrs. Lela Bunn are among the sick Mrs. Volcie Belvin, sister of Mrs. Alton Finch is confined with illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bobby Strickland at 505 North King Charles Road, Raleigh. Mrs. Vance Denton and girls, Miss Bertie Sue Leffingwell and Misses Trudy and Susan McLamb visited the Bill Perritts at Butner Monday afternoon. Mrs. Bette Ferrell and Miss Vessie Ferrell visited Mrs. Ethel Pate Monday afternoon. Bruce Young was a visitor Mon day night with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Foster Young, of Zebulon. Mrs. Mamie Mitchell is spending a few weeks with the Bill Perritts of Butner. Thomas Gray Timberlake and Miss Faye Hood were married last Saturday afternoon at Union Chapel. Mrs. Jimmy Young and Bruce visited Mrs. S. P. Gill and Ronnie Wednesday p.m. Mrs. Curtis Horton of Bunn call ed last Sunday afternoon to see her parents, the Buck Richards. Rev. and Mrs. George Stallings visited Mrs. Ethel Pate after the evening worship service Sunday night. The Johnson family reunion was held last Sunday at Buggs Island. Among those attending were the Lonnie Tant family, the Verlon Johnson family, the Spencer Tant family, Mrs. Ada Johnson and Earl and: Miss Jean Wood, who was a guest of Miss Brenda Tant. Miss Brenda Creech spent Sun day afternoon with Misses Linda and Cathy Cunningham. Mrs. Vernon Whittington of Ra leigh called to see her mother, Mrs. Ethel Pate, Sunday. Mrs. James Gainey of Zebulon spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Jimmy Young and Bruce. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Creech were visitors Sunday afternoon with the G. P. Masseys of Pilot and Mrs. Mable Eason and Mrs. Ella Price of Hales Chapel. Mr. and Mrs. Bullock of Creed moor were Sunday dinner guests of their daughter, Mrs. Reginald Cunningham. Mrs..Lena Phillips spent a few days last week with her daugh ter, Mrs. G. P. Massey, of Pilot. Rev. G. W. McDowell visited Mrs. Billy Wayne Ray last week in Rex Hospital. Linnie Pool came home last week from the hospital. Mrs. Dollie Bissette of Oxford and Mrs. Harry Bissette of Zebu Ion visited relatives in the commu nity Sunday. Mrs. Delenia Lewis and Lynn spent Friday with her sister, Mrs. Pat Weaver, of Creedmoor. Marshall Batchelor has returned to camp in North Dakota after spending a couple of weeks with his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie W. Lewis, and other relatives. Weekend guests of Mrs. Eva Ray were Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Ray and children of Durham. Visitors of Mrs. Lona Stallings Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Stallings of Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Brantley and son of Raleigh spent the weekend with Edwin’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Avon Brantley. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bunn an nounce the birth of a son, May 3, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Louisburg. Mrs. Bunn is the form er Miss Margaret Lue Carlyle. Mrs. Ralph Cone, Mrs. Hildreth Perry and Mrs. Flossie Perry vis ited Mrs. Larry Bunn in Louis burg hospital Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Strickland of Rocky Cross were Sunday night supper guests of the John L. Rays. Antioch community sponsored an all Gospel Sing at Corinth Holder’s School. The winners were Melody Quartet, Fisher Trio, Mar velaries, Johnny B. Denton, and Donna Bullock. The 5th Sunday Night Singing was at Antioch Church. It was the best they have ever had. Antioch Church will have its Mother’s Day program May 14. Services will begin at 10:00. The public is invited. Mrs. Sam Narron visited her husband at Pittsburgh, Pa., for two weeks. Mrs. Robeary Parker of Micro was the weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. William Edwin Narron and girls. Miss Jessie Woodard and her father, John Woodard of Raleigh were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hawley. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Davis of Wilson were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wade Davis.
